Chocolate Pudding


  • ½ c sugar
  • 3 T corn starch
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • 2 cups milk (raw)
  • 2 (1 oz) squares unsweetened chocolate, chopped
  • 2 egg yolks
  • 2 T butter
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract


In a medium saucepan over medium heat, combine sugar, corn starch and salt. Stir in milk and chocolate. When chocolate melts, turn heat up to start a slow boil and continue stirring until mixture thickens. Remove from heat and add the egg yolks. If you prefer, you can return to heat to cook the yolks for an additional two minutes. Add the butter and vanilla and stir. Transfer to a glass container and chill for several hours before serving.
